About the role:CPL’s Mylestones Transition to Work Program provide practical learning opportunities that pave the way to employment including the School Leaver Employment Support program and Mylestones Solutions Garden crew, a Disability Social Enterprise employing people with disability in small commercial garden crews in locations across Queensland.As Employment Support Worker in Townsville's Transition to Work team, your role will include;Lead and develop a work crew as a viable business to ensure provision of a high quality gardening and maintenance service, within agreed parameters.Lead and implement CPL’s School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) programs by providing an inclusive and empowering environment for school leavers to build confidence, develop skills and create employment pathwaysSupporting continuous improvement in the business performance of Mylestones Solutions Work Crew and effectively contributing towards the achievement of the organization’s vision and purpose.Responsibilities include:Identify appropriate business development opportunitiesDevelop and implement a high quality marketing plan that effectively promotes the work of the Mylestones Solutions Work Crew.Assess customer requirements, estimate recourse needs, determine feasibility of providing service and produce and provide quotations.Undertake appropriate horticulture/gardening/maintenance (including cleaning) duties and tasks and effectively supervise the crewDevelop and implement appropriate equipment maintenance programsContribute effectively to identification, removal and reduction of workplace hazards and risks.Identify training and development needs of the teams and provide individual coaching and trainingDeliver training and mentoring, practice interviews, resume preparation and professional communication –Set goals, Write a resume, Work as part of a team, Understand Workplace Health and Safety, Improve communication and presentation skillsCoordination of Work ExperienceTo be successful you will have:Sound working knowledge of horticulture.Working knowledge of basic routine gardening equipment maintenance with the ability to implement that knowledge safely in practice.Experience in developing and delivering training with adjusted training delivery methodsEffective interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to effectively assess customers’ needs and translate these into viable work plans and programs.Demonstrated understanding of small business principles with the ability to translate those principles into practice.Track record of success within similar gardening services is preferred, particularly in a supervisory or self-employment capacity.Ability to effectively organise and prioritise work and develop and implement appropriate work schedules.In order for your application to be considered, you must address selection criteria.
